ABA is the only treatment for autism whose benefits have been consistently validated by independent scientific research. In fact, ABA has been endorsed as an effective treatment for autism by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the United States Surgeon General.

Behavior principles are used to treat a wide range of disorders from complex maladaptive behaviors to even simple problems. At Family Solutions Counseling Center, we can refer you other healthcare providers that provide testing, counseling and medication management. It is our goal to provide you with a high quality service or refer you to someone who can assist you with your needs.

Early intervention is the most effective way to speed up your child's development and reduce the symptoms of autism. Seek help as soon as you suspect something’s wrong. Don't wait to see if your child will catch up later or outgrow the problem. Don't even wait for an official diagnosis. The earlier children with Autism Spectrum Disorders get help, the greater their chance of treatment success will be.

Providing therapy in a controlled environment can allow our therapists the opportunity to utilize a more intensive form of instructional control. We realize that some behaviors are better served in clinical settings and we have created a stimuli rich environment to assist in treatment.

Providing therapy in the natural environment promotes better generalization to the changes in behavior. Home-based and school-based therapies allow the therapist to observe and change socially significant behaviors in the same place they occur. Home and school-based clients are selected based on the needs of the child and the availability of treatment. If you are interested in home or school-based treatment options they will be discussed during your initial consultation.

Initial consultation services are not covered by insurance. Current consultation rates are set at $125.00 per hour.

Yes, Louisiana Medicaid will fund ABA therapy. A psychological evaluation including a diagnosis and an order for ABA therapy is required for coverage of services.
